Some Liam updates...

So, it's been a little while since I've posted anything! I'm going to get better about this, I swear, but for now here are some cute things Liam has been doing lately:

"Bahtee feet"
Liam has a soft, blue blanket with a pattern like a giraffe's skin. He can't say "blanket," but has called this one "bah-tee" for months. He particularly likes the way the soft blanket feels against his toes. At least once a day he'll ask for "bah-tee feet!" Which means he would like somebody to cover him with his blanket, making sure that his feet are covered as well. Bahtee feet is requested most often while on the couch or rocking in the rocking chair before nap and bed time.

"Wake up!"
I can't remember exactly how it started, but for the last several weeks Liam has really enjoyed "waking up" whichever one of his parents not in his room first thing in the morning. If Kurt is home, he is always the one to go in and get Liam when he wakes up (the theory being, if Mommy is the one coming to get him, it's because Daddy isn't home), so I will stay in bed and pretend to sleep while I wait for Kurt to bring Liam into our room, where he will climb up on the bed, put his hands on my arm and sort of rock against me to shake me gently while he says "Week up, Mommy!" Sometimes I will come out on my own which often leads to a little bit of drama during which Liam directs me back to my room, insisting that he "week up Mommy," and often won't settle down until I go lie down and pretend to be asleep so he can "wake me up."

Hide big bahtee/hide covers
A few years back, Kurt's company gave these really great, warm blankets as Christmas gifts to all of their employees. The Andera Blanket has now, officially, been re-dubbed "big bahtee," and is used mostly for the purposes of hiding from Mommy and/or Daddy, while also conveniently being big enough that he can have one of us hide with him if he so desires. "Hide big bahtee" means he would like one of us to drape the blanket over his head so that he may walk around the apartment, arms extended so he can sort of see where he's going, like a little ghost zombie. "Hide-a-me" means that he would like one of us to hide WITH him under big bahtee, usually sitting on the couch or on his bedroom floor. It is generally understood that when it is a two person operation, the other parent is in charge of finding the two hiders, who will usually eventually count to three, pull the blanket off and yell "boo!" Sometimes exposed feet are tickled to facilitate a quicker reveal. Occasionally, Liam will escape and ask "where Mommy/Daddy go?" Holding his hands up, palms flat, in mock confusion. Extra points for a big, surprised reaction when hiding parities reappear.
Similarly, he REALLY enjoys hiding under the comforter on our bed, requesting "hide-a-covers" ("cub-urrs") on the reg. He especially enjoys this because he can easily hide himself completely.

"I have it the _____"
Liam has this funny emerging speech pattern. When he wants something, say, a toy car, he will say, "i have it, the car?" If he is holding his bunny, Eggy, and he would like you to take her so that his hands may remain free, he will hold her out to you and say, "hold it, the Eggy?" It's almost like he's speaking English as a second language and arranging hos sentences with English words in the order in which you might speak them in Italian or some other Romance language.

Shadows
I am sure he got this from somewhere, but I really don't know. Either way, Liam's newest game is pulling one (or both) of us into his room where he will close his door and have us close the blinds and curtain and turn out the lights, in the hopes that one of us will turn on the flashlight of our cell phones and let him hold it. He will shine the light around the room and call out "sha-dows! Sha-dows!" Again, no idea where he got this, but he's really into it.
