Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

To completely steal from my awesome sister-in-law, Jenny, I present you now with a new installment of this blog: Liam-isms!

At 28 months now (can you believe it?!), Liam is developing his own little language. Much like Spanglish, Liamglish contains some similarities to my first language (English), but has some words and sounds that are foreign to us all. Here are a few Liam words:

"Three, go!"
This is a game Liam invented. He pronounces it more like, "fwee, GO!" But either way, it mainly consists of him squatting down ("Fwee..."), then popping up ("GO!") and running through the apartment. Sometimes it requires parental involvement, more of a race to different locations, usually ending with flopping onto whatever surface Eggy is on, hugging her and saying, "Phew!" (or, "foo!" as the case may be). Sometimes it means I stand in the living room while Liam runs at me until I lift one of my legs up so he can run under it. Sometimes it's a solo mission. Either way, it includes a LOT of giggling.

"Bah-tee"
This is Liam's word for "blanket." Usually he says it when he is lying on the couch or the floor and wants to be covered with his blanket while he pretends to take a nap. Said pretend naps last, oh, 5 seconds.

"No pom" = "No problem"

"Oopee" = "Oopsie" (usually said after having dropped something on the floor)

And, finally, my current favorite:

"Ooh-yah-yee" = "Banana." That's right. It only took me about 100 guesses to figure it out. How does this kid come up with these things? I honestly don't know.
