What is so great about being a stay at
home mom, anyway? I was thinking about this the other day while on a walk with
my good friend Jessica, who is expecting her first baby in November. She's in
the process of getting her PhD, so won't be home for long, but I realized while
walking and talking about babies that all I seem to do is focus on how hard
this is. How much harder it is than I ever believed it could be. How much more
stressful, more exhausting.

I was shot down by your love
Usually posts with this label are texts I've sent to Kurt about things Liam does during the day when Kurt is at work and Liam and I are at home, but this one is from last night while my friend Carol and I were out for a walk and Kurt and Liam were hanging out at home:
I'm eating something rice based, and Liam skips over to me and says (very clearly), "daddy? I want some"
I'm blown away
And then, he comes back a second later and I ask "do you want some more?"
"Yes peese" (again, clear as a bell)

7 am, the usual morning lineup
When Kurt and I got married, we didn't
have a lot of money. We paid for the wedding ourselves with some help from our
families after saving for a year and a half. We wanted to go on a honeymoon and
with the help of our generous wedding guests we were able to go to London and
stay at a family friend's flat. We had a fantastic time and I will always
treasure the memories of that trip, but sometimes it makes me weirdly sad that
we didn't get many wedding gifts and don't have, say, wedding china or dishes
that we can say, "Oh, so-and-so gave us this for our wedding."
